food journaling and weight loss

Last year my husband and I decided we should lose some weight to feel better.   We found an eating challenge we were quite excited about,  and it recommended keeping a food journal to see what foods were affecting how you feel.    I did this a few years previously to figure out what foods were bothering me when I was feeling very ill,   but I had not thought about doing it for weight loss

It really helped us keep from mindlessly eating.   Knowing I had to write down that piece of food or drink that was going in my mouth often kept me from doing it.   With taking Skinny Fiber I don't feel hungry,  but sometimes it's easy to pop something in your mouth while cooking,  or baking,  or what ever.    Thinking about writing it down, made us more mindful of our decisions of food,  so we were able to eat healthier more easily.

Several  studies have shown that people who keep food journals are

more likely to be successful in losing weight and keeping it

off. In fact, a researcher from one recent study says that

people keeping a food diary six days a week lost about twice

as much weight as those who kept food records one day a

week or less {quote}

I often use a notebook,   it's easy to keep track,  and I can make notes with recipe ideas etc.   But I do also have a printable page I found since sometimes that is easier to take along if you have to go out, than hauling a notebook!
